The UAE’s diplomatic advisor, Anwar Gargash said that celebration of the Qatar National Day inside UAE is the confirmation that the dispute between Abu Dhabi and Doha is over.
“The UAE’s celebration of Qatar National Day carries positive connotations and messages that transcend fraternal traditions among the Arab Gulf states,” Gargash said in a tweet message.
Gargash said the UAE has the intention to end differences with the Gulf states, and to strengthen cooperation with the Arab governments in the coming years.
The world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa was lit up in the colors of the Qatari flag to celebrate the Gulf country’s national day.
The UAE joined Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to normalize ties with Qatar, but the UAE has yet to appoint an envoy to Doha.
Ties between UAE and Qatar improved at the start of 2021 year with diplomatic missions returning to each others’ capitals.
