U.S. Representative James Clyburn Tests Positive for COVID-19

United States House Majority Whip James Clyburn tested positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case on Dec. 23.

Clyburn said on Twitter that he is asymptomatic.

“America is in a new phase of this pandemic, No one is immune. I urge anyone who has not done so to protect themselves by getting vaccinated and boosted,” Clyburn said.

The South Carolina Democratic Representative is the latest among several other lawmakers who have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days, including Representative Barbara Lee and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker — all of whom were vaccinated.

Representatives Jason Crow, Nicole Malliotakis, and Matt Cartwright also recently tested positive for the COVID-19.
