Syria, Oman Agree to Enhance Cooperation on Renewable Energy

Top Syrian and Omani officials on Thursday discussed ways to further strengthen relations between the two states and also to intensify cooperation in energy sectors.

Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme said he held detailed discussions with Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman, Dr. Muhammad bin Hamad al-Rumaihi, and agreed on increasing technical cooperation in the area of on energy efficiency.

During the video conference, the two sides agreed on exchanging expertise, where the Oman Minister expressed readiness to convene a training worship to improve capacity of the Syrian officials in the ministry of oil.

Both the officials also agreed on intellectual cooperation by the expertise in the areas of renewable energies.

Minister Tohme hoped that the upward cooperation in the light of advanced Omani experiences and expertise, would be benefiting Syria in the areas of energy.

Omani Minister al-Rumaihi expressed his country’s desire to cooperate with Syria in the field of energy.
