Igor Danchenko, the researcher on the 2016 dossier of allegations against Donald Trump has been reportedly arrested as part of special counsel John Durham’s probe.
Danchenko, a Russia analyst who worked with Christopher Steele, the author of the “Steele Dossier” was taken into custody by the FBI as part of an ongoing investigation on the alleged collusion between Russia and former President Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Durham said last month that he issued subpoenas to 15 people and entities as part of the investigation but did not specify if Danchenko was included.
The charges against Danchenko were not disclosed publicly but are expected to be unsealed later this Thursday.
Danchenko was known for his claim that there was a possible sex tape involving Trump at the Ritz-Carlton.
Both the Justice Department and FBI have not yet confirmed to released statements on Danchenko’s arrest.
