Saudi-led Coalition Airstrikes Kill 165 Houthi Rebels in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition says it killed 165 Houthi rebels during 24 airstrikes targeted their positions in Yemen central province of Marib and the west coast on Wednesday.

In a statement, the coalition said 140 Houth rebels were killed in Yemen’s Marhib province and their 15 vehicles were destroyed in the airstrikes conducted in the past 24 hours.

The coalition also claimed the killing of 25 Houthi rebels in Yemen’s west coast.

Moreover, the coalition said it also launched fresh airstrikes against Houthi in Yemen capital city, Sanaa to neutralize the threat of ballistic missiles and explosive-rigged drones.

Warplanes struck two caves used to store ballistic missiles and four secret drone facilities in Houthi-held Sanaa, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The US representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, in a briefing to the UN Security Council said, “The Houthis have ignored repeated calls from this council and the international community to cease their offensive in Marib province. The offensive endangers thousands of civilians, and it could lead to the displacement of half-a-million people. The Houthis must stop this offensive immediately.”
