One Killed, Two Wounded in Israel Shooting; Police Searching for Gunmen

Israeli police were searching for the gunmen who opened fire in a Homesh outpost in northern West Bank late Thursday, killing one and injuring two other people.

Israel Defense Forces said the terror attack was reported along the road just outside the Homesh illegal outpost in the west of Nablus.

Israeli Brig. Gen. Avi Bluth, Commander of the IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division, said the car was hit by an ambush from the side of the road. According to Bluth, at least 10 bullets were fired into the car.

Bluth said reinforcements have been brought into the area and search for the gunmen is underway.

He said Israeli troops had set up checkpoints and blocked the roadways throughout the area in an effort to catch the perpetrators. “We are grabbing any threads there are to pull,” Bluth said.

According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, the two wounded people who received light injuries from broken glass were taken by ambulance to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.

Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett in a statement said that security forces would “soon put their hands on the terrorists” behind the shooting.
