New Zealand reported 100 new COVID-19 community cases on Nov. 3.
According to the Ministry of Health, 97 of the new community cases were in Auckland while three were in Waikato, bringing the respective totals to each area to 3,553 and 144.
The Ministry also identified 10 new cases at the border.
New Zealand has recorded a total of 3,733 community cases in the current outbreak and 6,471 since the pandemic began last year.
The new cases come as COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins announced that New Zealand purchased 4.7 million additional doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for delivery in 2022.
Hipkins said the additional vaccines will be used for those who did not have access to the vaccine this year and for a potential booster program if the medical regulatory body grants approval.
Hipkins added that further announcements of the use of the additional vaccines will be made in due course.
