Former US Diplomat Bill Richardson announced that US journalist Danny Fenster has been released from prison in Myanmar, just three days after he was sentenced to 11 years for alleged immigration and “terrorism” violations.
Fenster, who worked for Frontier Myanmar has been detained for almost 5 months in Myanmar after being accused by the junta of spreading false or inflammatory information, contacting illegal organizations, and violating visa regulations.
“Governor Bill Richardson and the Richardson Center are thrilled to announce the release of American journalist Danny Fenster from prison in Myanmar,” said Richardson’s Twitter account.
