Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren Tests Positive for COVID-19

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts announced on Dec. 19 that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Warren, who is vaccinated and boosted, said that she is only experiencing mild symptoms.

“I regularly test for COVID and while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case,” Warren said on Twitter.

Warren added that she was “grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated and boosted.”

Warren also urged the public to get the vaccine and the booster shot as soon as possible.

“Together, we can save lives,” Warren said.

Warren’s announcement came as the United States faces the emergence of the new Omicron variant.
