Magnussen Home Recalls 5-Drawer Chests due to Tip-Over and Entrapment Hazards

Magnussen Home has issued a recall for 13,200 of its Nova Series 5-Drawer Chests because they are unstable unless anchored to a wall.

An unstable chest presents a tip-over and entrapment hazard that could be fatal to young children.

The chests were manufactured from August 2009, through August 2015 and are made of wood with a walnut veneer. Magnussen has received one report of a chest tipping over so far, resulting in minor bruises to one child.

Consumers who own one of the recalled chests are being urged to stop using it immediately and contact the company for a refund. Magnussen stated that the refund will be pro-rated based on the age of the product.

There have been no reported incidents or injuries to date.
