Lebanon recorded 1,806 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, the country’s health ministry said on Tuesday, putting the total tally to 703,555 nationwide.
Another 15 patients lost their lives to the virus during the same period of time, as per data of the ministry, taking the overall death toll to 8,965.
Over the last 24 hours, 23,535 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total number of recoveries to 650,789, the ministry added.
Meanwhile, Lebanon President Michel Aoun called on the Supreme Defense Council to organize an emergency meeting to discuss ways to prevent the rapid spread of the virus, the statement added.
