Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has deployed 500 Wisconsin National Guard troops to support Kenosha authorities ahead of Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial verdict.
“We continue to be in close contact with our partners at the local level to ensure the state provides support and resources to help keep the Kenosha community and greater area safe,” said Evers.
Wisconsin’s adjutant general Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp confirmed the deployment and their coordination with local law enforcement units.
Jury instructions and closing arguments for the Rittenhouse trial are scheduled for Monday while there are no indications yet if there are possible demonstrations.
The jury that will decide whether or not to convict Rittenhouse could be given the choice to consider lesser charges in addition to those given by prosecutors.
