Jamie Lee Curtis Reprises Role as Laurie Strode in “Halloween Kills,”

Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode in “Halloween Kills” and made sure her character ditched her hospital gown.

“My only input in the 2021 movie was about the hospital gown because Laurie is wounded and has surgery in a hospital,” Curtis told Variety. “My concern was they had written scenes where Laurie is running down the hall with her daughter in a hospital gown.”

Curtis also said that during early discussions regarding the hospital scene, she told director David Gordon Green that “hospital gowns are not hot and they’re not tough.”

As a result, Curtis’ largest issue was ensuring Laurie changed out of her medical gown and into her regular clothing before sprinting down the corridor, stating, “I was a little bit outspoken about how quickly we could get Laurie back in her clothes.”

During the same discussion, Curtis admitted that she had no clue the most recent Halloween flicks were intended to be a trilogy. “I felt the reason I said yes to the movie was that it was so clear that the intention of the movie felt right to me,” she said. “Only when we were editing and doing the final touches of the 2018 movie, did I find out that they were going to make another movie.”

Curtis made her film debut as Strode in John Carpenter’s Halloween in 1978.

Curtis played the character again in Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Halloween (2018), and Halloween Kills (2021).

Curtis is slated to reprise the role for the final time in Halloween Ends in 2022.
