Israel Missile Attack Kills Soldier in Syria

A Syrian soldier has been killed in an Israeli missile attack early Thursday in southern Syria.

“At around 12:50am, the Israeli enemy carried out an air raid with several missiles in the direction of the Syrian Golan and targeting several positions in the south,” a military source told Syria’s state news agency (SANA).

The Syrian air defenses reportedly managed to shoot down most of the missiles fired by Israel but some still managed to hit,

The Israeli military has not commented on the report so far but had recently confirmed it targeted the bases of Iran-backed Lebanon’s Hezbollah group.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Israeli missile strikes in the west of Syrian Homs province killed five people last November.

There were also two separate Israeli attacks in October that killed five Hezbollah fighters near the Syrian capital, Damascus, while nine pro-government fighters were killed close to the T4 airbase east of Palmyra in central Syria.
