Jerri Bartman, the comic book character created by actor David Dastmalchian, will be back in shops in the spring with a new title.
Dark Horse Comics will release Count Crowley: Amateur Midnight Monster Hunter on March 23, 2022.
The series is set in the 1980s and follows Jerri Bartman, a once-promising TV journalist who returns to her birthplace in the Midwest after being kicked out of her job due to an alcohol problem.
The latest batch follows Dastmalchian’s breakout year, which included his roles as Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad and Piter De Vries in Dune. He debuted the series in 2019 as Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter. The author is collaborating with illustrator Lukas Ketner, colorist Lauren Affe, and letterer Frank Cvetkovic once more.
“To now be sharing these stories with the world is one of the greatest gifts of my creative journey,” said Dastmalchian. “Back with my incredible partners, Megan, Lukas, Lauren, and Frank, I am over the howling moon to share with the world this next chapter in Jerri’s journey! No longer ‘Reluctant,’ she’s now a stumbling, fumbling, courageous ‘Amateur’ Midnight Monster Hunter! Here’s hoping she makes it to the morning!”
Dastmalchian is a lifelong comic book lover who began his acting career with a tiny part in The Dark Knight and has since acted in the Ant-Man movie and The CW’s The Flash. He’s getting ready to shoot a role in 20th Century Fox’s Boston Strangler, with Keira Knightley.
