A suicide bomber killed at least six people at a crowded restaurant in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on Dec. 25, officials said.
Officials said a bomber blew himself up at the entrance of the In Box restaurant in the eastern city of Benin, killing himself and five other people.
The blast also injured 13 other people who were taken to a nearby medical center al to receive treatment for their wounds.
Over 30 people, including children and local officials, were in the restaurant at the time of the attack, witnesses told AFP News.
“There was a motorbike parked there. Suddenly the motorbike took off, then there was a deafening noise,” local radio presenter Nicolas Ekila told AFP News.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
However, officials blamed the Allied Democratic Forces, a deadly militant group linked with the Islamic State.
