Health officials in New South Wales (NSW) have linked on Dec. 16 linked at least 97 COVID-19 cases to a Taylor Swift-themed party in Sydney.
NSW Health identified 600 people who attended the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party” from 9 p.m. last Dec. 10 at the Metro Theater as close contacts and urged them to immediately get tested and to isolate for seven days.
NSW Health said that some of the confirmed cases are “likely” to have the Omicron variant.
NSW Health also asked household contacts of party attendees to get tested and self-isolate until they receive negative results.
On Dec. 17, NSW Health announced that the state recorded 2,213 new cases of COIVD-19 in the last 24 hours, 185 of which were the Omicron variant.
