German Man Kills Family and Self out of Fear of Being Arrested for Vaccination Certificate Forgery

A German man identified only as Devid R. shot his wife, 3 children, and himself at their home in Koenigs Wusterhausen after his wife’s employer found out that he procured a fake vaccination certificate.

The Cottbus public prosecutor and the South Police Department said they dispatched officers to the home after neighbors reported that there were dead people in the house.

Police later discovered five residents dead with gunshot and stab wounds – including three children aged 4, 8, and 10 and both the parents.

Chief Public Prosecutor Gernot Bantleon said Devid explained in his suicide note that he forged a vaccination certificate for his wife and said he was afraid that they might be arrested which could lead to losing custody of their children.

Police later confirmed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home of Devid and that there was no violent struggle.

A weapon was also found at the crime scene and was believed to have been used in the killing of Devid’s family and himself.

It was later found out that neither Devid nor his wife owned a firearm license.
