NYPD has surrounded a man carrying a possible shotgun outside UN HQ.

The avenue along the UN headquarters was closed to traffic was cordoned off while shelter in place orders have been issued for the UN HQ and a lockdown was put in place.
“Due to a police investigation, avoid the area of 42 Street and 1st Avenue. Expect emergency vehicles in the surrounding area. Traffic along the FDR Drive is affected. Use an alternate route if traveling in the area,” said the NYPD.
NYPD said they are continuing to negotiate with the man while a bomb squad is on its way to the scenes.
