Facebook Whistleblower Frances Haugen to Testify Before Congress Again

Whistleblower Frances Haugen will testify again before the US Congress again this week regarding Facebook’s moderation and policy failures in regards to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Haugen will attend the hearing conducted by House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology titled “Holding Big Tech Accountable: Targeted Reforms to Tech’s Legal Immunity,”  on December 1 at 10:30 a.m. EST.

Color of Change president Rashad Robinson will be joining Haugen along with other witnesses from organizations like Free Press Action and Cyber Civil Rights Initiative.

Haugen has already testified before the Senate Commerce Committee in October after she leaked internal Facebook reports to the Wall Street Journal which detailed alarming policy and moderation failures at Facebook along with the negative effects of Instagram on mental health.

Facebook’s former News Feed lead and current Head of Instagram Adam Mosser will also testify before the Senate for the first time next week.
