Cl0p ransomware hackers targeted Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) which and leaked confidential proprietary commercial information along with some personal data.
The data leak was not immediately confirmed by SPO until Cl0p posted the stolen data on its blog and took credit for the breach.
“SPO has taken immediate actions to reinforce existing security measures and to mitigate the potential impact of the incident. It takes a serious view of any cyber attack or illegal accessing of data or any unlawful action that potentially compromises the privacy or confidentiality of data, and will not be threatened by such actions,” said SPO on the incident.
SPO however did not say when the intrusion occurred but claimed that their global operations were unaffected.
“SPO is also working closely with data security experts to investigate the incident and determine what further actions it may need to take and will take all necessary steps to protect its customers and staff, now and in the future,” added SPO.
Cl0p however has not said if it demanded a ransom from SPO or what else have they done to their network during the intrusion.
