A magnitude of 5.0 earthquake struck Turkey’s Duzce province on Wednesday, the country’s disaster authority announced.
There was no immediate report of any damage, but Faruk Özlü, Duzce Mayor, called on the people to strain cautious at this moment.
“I convey my best wishes to all my fellow countrymen who were affected by the earthquake. Our earthquake detection studies continue. I call on our citizens to be calm and cautious for a while,” Mr. Özlü said in a tweet.
The earthquake was also felt in Istanbul and other neighboring regions but there were no immediate casualties or any damages.
We received no negative information concerning damage or injuries so far, Duzce´s governor, Cevdet Atay said.
