Taliban Denies Selling U.S. Military Equipment to Pakistan

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on Friday rejected reports over allegedly selling of U.S. military equipment to Pakistan, emphasizing on the need for the equipment inside the country.  

We strongly deny the report, said Inamullah Samangani, a Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban. “Afghanistan has an independent government and this government has security departments and we need this military equipment,” he said.

Indian and Pakistan media outlets, quoting anonymous sources. reported that Pakistan had purchased US military equipment left in Afghanistan from the Taliban.  

Pakistan is looking to strengthen its security against he Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) by purchasing these weapons, according to  reports

Pakistan launched major military operations against the TTP group in North Waziristan, recognized as the stronghold of the group.
