The US Senate has passed an almost $1 trillion public-works bill and was passed to President Joe Biden’s desk.
The bill was passed by a bipartisan 228-to-206 vote after almost 7 hours.
“Tonight, we took a monumental step forward as a nation. Generations from now, people will look back and know this is when America won the economic competition for the 21st century,” said Biden.
The $1t public works bill would be the US’s largest single investment of federal resources into infrastructure projects in more than a decade.
The bill reauthorizes existing federal infrastructure programs for five years and gives additional funding for water projects, connectivity, energy, and climate change.
