Ukraine is alarmed over the recent large Russian troop buildup along its borders and in the disputed territories of Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk.
Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense claimed that almost 90,000 Russian troops from various units were just outside their borders and in the disputed regions.
Aside from troops, Russian military hardware was also deployed in Donetsk and Luhansk beyond the designated disengagement areas.
Kremlin still has not made a state on the larger presence of troops but Russian armed forces recently held a series of large-scale drills.
“It should be noted that the Russian Federation periodically resorted to the practice of transferring and accumulating military units in order to maintain tensions in the region and political pressure on neighboring states,” added the Ministry of Defense.
