Kabul Hospital Assault Leaves 19 Dead

The Taliban reported that twin bombings and firefights have left 19 dead and many more wounded at the Sardar Dawood Khan Military Hospital in Kabul.

“A bomb exploded at the entrance of a 400-bed hospital in Kabul’s 10th district. Special forces of the Islamic Emirate have reached the area. The blast caused casualties, details of which will be shared later,” said Taliban information ministry spokesman Qari Saeed Khosty.

The Taliban said that 34 more people were wounded in the attack while there are no official tallies yet. 

EMERGENCY NGO reported that nine people who were hurt during the attack have been taken to their hospital, 

Footage near the hospital has shown a plume of smoke rising from the hospital while gunfire could be heard in the background. 

There are still no groups that have taken responsibility for the attack but State News Agency Baktha news claimed they were ISIS-K militants.
