US Hands Names of Russian Hackers to Kremlin

The United States has reportedly handed over the names and other details of several hackers who have launched or continued cyberattacks on America to test President Vladimir Putin’s cooperation.

Putin has maintained that Russia does not condone the recent large-scale cyberattacks on US government departments and businesses despite the fact that most perpetrators were revealed to be Russian.

Putin said in July that the Russian government will crackdown on the cybercriminals after US President Joe Biden drew attention to the issue.

There have been no reports yet of cybercriminal arrests in Russia or extradition of hacking suspects or fugitives to the US.

The White House however has not yet confirmed if there was an actual list that was handed over to the Kremlin.
