The I-95 in Port Richmond has reopened after being shut down as firefighters battled a multi-alarm warehouse fire on Sunday night.
A large fire broke out in a derelict three-story building at the intersection of Melvale and Tioga about 10 p.m.
According to officials, the facility was originally home to a tire manufacturing firm. Materials left inside the structure was igniting the flames.
The fire was extinguished at midnight on Monday. Firefighters remained in the area, putting out hot spots.
The I-95 near the fire scene was blocked in both directions for a short amount of time due to smoke billowing over the traffic lanes.
There has been no so far information on what caused the fire.
