Lev Parnas Convicted of Federal Campaign Finance Crimes

Former Rudy Giuliani associate, Lev Parnas, has been convicted of federal campaign finance criminal charges in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

Andrey Kukushin, was also convicted by the same jury.

The convictions come just one day after prosecutors and defense lawyers rested their cases following a two-week trial.

Parnas was implicated in then President Trump’s first impeachment trial.

Parnas had helped Giuliani in effort to dig up dirt on President Joe Biden in Ukraine, while Trump withheld congressionally approved military aid Ukraine, all while pressuring Ukraine’s president to investigate the Democrat Biden for Trump’s private political gain

Giuliani, who has acted as Trump’s lawyer, was once the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, is now barred from practicing law in New York, and faces legal ethics probes in Washington, DC

Giuliani has not yet been charged in the case, although he is under investigation by federal authorities in New York.

U.S. Attorney  Damian Williams, in a statement, said, “A  unanimous federal jury has found that Lev Parnas and Andrey Kukushkin  conspired to manipulate the United States political system for their own  financial gain.”
