FBI Denver Confirms Identification of Brian Laundrie Remains

The FBI Denver Division has confirmed that the human remains found at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park belonged to Brian Laundrie.

“On October 21, 2021, a comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie,” said FBI Denver.

According to the FBI, they used dental records to identify the partial remains while Laundrie’s parents confirmed that some of the items found on the site belonged to him.

North Port Police Department spokesman Josh Taylor said that the remains were only bones while no flesh or body parts were found.

Laundrie is the sole person of interest in the murder of his fiancé and vlogger Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, who was found strangled and left for dead in Wyoming.

Laundrie had been missing since 14 September after suddenly leaving his parent’s house.

There is no information yet on how Laundrie died or why only his bones were found.
