Ali Harbi Ali, the suspect behind the assassination of MP Sir David Amess was found to have also targeted two other MPs.
Prosecutor James Cable said that Ali was an Islamic State supporter who plotted for two years to kill a politician.
“Ali considered himself affiliated to Islamic State,” added Cable during Ali’s hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court
Ali was also found to have conducted surveillance on two unnamed members of parliament this year at their homes, the constituency surgery of another, and at the Houses of Parliament.
“We will submit to the court that this murder has a terrorist connection, namely that it had both religious and ideological motivations,” said Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Special Crime and Counter-Terrorism Division head Nick Price.
British police said they are no longer looking for other suspects in the case.
