Ali Harbi Ali, the suspect who killed MP Sir David Amess during a constituency surgery has been charged with murder.
Ali, a former NHS worker was arrested at his Kentish Town flat and his childhood home in Croydon, South London over the weekend.
According to the police investigation, Ali traveled at least 50 miles from his home to the constituency surgery in Belfairs Methodist Church.
There are no motives yet for the attack while police are still searching Ali’s home for clues.
“He was unlucky. He was not targeted because of his political party. David Amess was not specifically targeted,” a government insider told Daily Mail.
Ali was believed to not be acquainted with Amess while there are no links yet to terrorist groups or radical movements.
