A shooting at a bar in Saint Paul, Minnesota killed one person and injured 14 others on Oct. 10, according to police.
Police said that officers responded to what they described as “a chaotic scene” at a bar on the 200 block of West Seventh Street at about 12: 15 a.m.
“In an instant, they found themselves caught in a hellish situation,” Saint Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell said.
Police said that a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, 14 others were taken to hospitals in the area for treatment for their gunshot wounds — all of whom are expected to survive.
Police have arrested three men in connection to the shooting and who are currently in a hospital for injuries suffered during the incident.
Police identified the three men as Terry Lorenzo Brown Jr., Devondre Trevon Phillips, and Jeffrey Orlando Hoffman.
According to the police, the three men will be booked into the Ramsey County jail for a charging decision after they are discharged from the hospital.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing. A motive is yet to be determined.
Mayor Melvin Carter described the shooting as “shocking.”
“As our Saint Paul officers work to bring those responsible for these senseless acts into custody, our work to build more proactive and comprehensive public safety strategies is more urgent than ever. We will never accept violence in our community,” Carter said.
The shooting is the 32nd homicide of the year in the state capital, according to the police.
