DOJ Forms Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team

U.S. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco has announced the formation of a “Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team” during the Aspen Cyber Summit.

Monaco reportedly said that Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team will give law enforcement the”capacity to disable these financial markets that allow criminals to flourish.”

Monaco also said that the DOJ’s Civil Cyber Fraud Initiative allow them to prosecute government contractors who don’t report breaches or follow regulations and provide protection for potential whistleblowers.
