The Taiwanese Defense Ministry reported that 25 Chinese military aircraft entered the national air defense zone.
According to the ministry, the PLA sent out 18 J-16 and four Su-30 fighters plus two nuclear-capable H-6 bombers and an anti-submarine aircraft.
In response to the incursion, the Taiwanese air force also scrambled jets and activated missile defense systems.
Last week, 24 PLA aircraft also flew a sortie near Taiwan while the biggest incursion was reported last June.
Beijing has not yet issued a statement on the incursion.
