Israeli Police Kill Palestinian Woman After Alleged Stabbing Attempt in Jerusalem

Israeli police officers fatally shot a Palestinian woman who allegedly attempted to stab them on Sept. 30 morning in east Jerusalem.

In a statement, the police said that the woman drew a knife and tried to stab officers outside the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City at around 6:30 a.m., the Times of Israel reported.

“Medical forces who arrived at the scene determined her death,” the police said.

None of the officers were injured in the stabbing attempt, police said.

Police said the woman was around 30 years old and was from the town of Qabatiya, outside Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

It was not immediately clear how the woman entered Israel.
