Serhiy Shefir, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s aide has survived an assassination attempt just outside Kyiv.
Shefir was reportedly shot at least ten times while he was onboard a car near the village of Lesnyky.
Shefir survived the assassination attempt but his driver was wounded.
Photos of Shefir’s car show multiple bullet holes that were believed to be from high-caliber firearms.
“Unidentified individuals fired about 10 shots from a 7.62 caliber automatic weapon,” said Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova.
During the time of the assassination attempt, Zelenskyy was in New York for the UN General Assembly.
“Saying ‘hello’ to me by shooting out of the forest at my friend’s car is weak. The response will be strong,” said Zelenskyy.
There are no suspects yet or motives for the shooting while Ukrainian authorities are still investigating the matter.
