The Taliban has killed a popular Afghan folk singer Fawad Andarabi in his own home in Baghlan after drinking tea with him.
“Taliban’s brutality continues in Andarab. Today they brutally killed folkloric singer, Fawad Andarabi who simply was bringing joy to this valley and its people. As he sang here “our beautiful valley….land of our forefathers…” will not submit to Taliban’s brutality,” tweeted Masoud Andarabi,ex-Interior Minister.
Fawad Andarabi’s son Jawad Andarabi told the Associated Press that the Taliban already came to their house to search it before and had tea before his father was dragged out of the house and shot.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid did not disclose the reason for the killing said they would investigate the shooting but recently told the New York Times in a recent interview that music is “un-Islamic.”
