The Australian Defense Force relocated a Brereton inquiry witness after the bombing of the witness’s New South Wales house in November 2020.
The witness’s family was woken up at 3:15 am by around three successive blasts and crashes which blew windows and embedded glass all over the place. The impact of the suspects’ bomb caused glass to be embedded in the ceiling, the opposite wall, and gouged the wooden floors. The glass was turned into power in some spots.
The witness immediately called the police that morning but it took them 40 minutes to respond since they went to a different address. The police failed to find any suspects.
The ADF transferred the family to emergency accommodations later that day.
The witness was a former special operations intelligence officer deployed to Afghanistan in 2021-2013.
