The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore said on Monday that 38 students staying at Block 61 Hall 13 needed to get tested for COVID-19 immediately as wastewater samples collected at the block showed viral fragments.
To facilitate the antigen rapid testing exercise, a swabbing station was set up at the multi-purpose hall next to the Block.
The circular to NTU students stated that the students involved need to isolate themselves either in their dormitories or at their Singapore residence.
NTU asked students and staff who do not reside in the affected blocks to refrain from visiting or entering the premises and to comply with the university’s safe management measures.
NTU added that it would provide the necessary support to all the affected students.
Both the Ministry of Education and NTU declined to comment when contacted by Today media network.
