Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that will build a fence along its border with Belarus to stem the flow of alleged “weaponized migrants.”
“A new 2.5 m high solid fence will be built on the border with Belarus. More soldiers will be involved in helping the Border Guard. Soon I will present details of the further involvement of the Polish Armed Forces,” said Blaszczak.
Poland along with its neighbors Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia has accused Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, of conducting a hybrid war using the migrants in retaliation for condemning his regime.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that it had sent a diplomatic note to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding providing aid to the migrants.
Despite the aid, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said that allowing migrants would encourage further illegal migration into the country.
