Pakistani Police Arrest Hundreds for Molesting TikToker in Lahore

Police in Pakistan began arresting hundreds of men who assaulted, groped, and robbed a woman while filming a Tiktok video in a park in Lahore on Aug. 14.

A viral video from Twitter showed a mob picking up a woman and tossing her around at the Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The victim, a Tiktok creator, said that the crowd enclosed on her group, tearing her clothes and snatching her jewelry.

Lahore’s police chief Ghulam Mahmood Dogar affirmed that about 400 suspects are being identified and “will be dealt with strictly.”

Cases registered against the mob included sexual assault, theft, and rioting.

Azhar Mashwani, a spokesperson of the Punjab chief minister, tweeted that the cases were “strong and non-bailable clauses.”

The Inspector General Police of Punjab filed an inquiry on Aug. 18 regarding the Lahore Police’s response and security deployment during the incident.
