Vietnam Offers 10,000 Tons of Rice to Cuba

Vietnam has offered to donate 10,000 tons of rice to Cuba, hoping to ease the difficulties faced by Cuban people amid the COVID-19 pandemic, its Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam would immediately ship the rice to Cuba as soon as possible. He hoped that the two sides would continue to expand their cooperation to secure Cuba’s food security.

In recent years, the PM emphasized that Vietnamese and Cuban ministries and sectors had joined hands to confront the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic while consolidating and growing cooperation in all spheres.

Meanwhile, Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen special traditional friendship, brotherly solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and confidence between the two Parties, States Governments, and peoples during difficult times.

Guillén also vowed to coordinate closely with relevant agencies of both sides to promote bilateral cooperation in COVID-19 vaccine production in Vietnam.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for the support, reflecting the special traditional friendship between the two countries.
