The Cuban embassy in Paris announced that its building located in the 15th arrondissement was attacked overnight with fire bombs and was damaged.
Only two of the three fire bombs thrown at the building struck and started a fire which was extinguished by Cuban diplomats before the police and fire service arrived.
No one was hurt during the attack while the extent of the damage was not disclosed.
French police have not mentioned any suspect linked to the attack but Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez immediately blamed the US for the attack.
“I hold the US Government responsible for its continuous campaigns against our country that encourage these behaviors and for calls for violence, with impunity, from its territory,” said Rodriguez on Twitter.
The French Foreign Ministry said they condemned the attack and that national authorities are already investigating the incident.
