House Speaker Pelosi’s spokesperson has tested positive for COVID-19 after coming in contact with runaway Texas Democrats.
The spokesperson along with another White House official were reportedly both present during the welcoming of Democrat Texas lawmakers to the Capitol at the same rooftop reception at the Hotel Eaton.
Of the 60 Democrat members from Texas, six recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The spokesperson and White House staff are both vaccinated and are only exhibiting mild symptoms.
“We know that there will be breakthrough cases, but as this instance shows, cases in vaccinated individuals are typically mild,” a White House official told Axios.
The White House official reportedly has not had any recent direct contact with President Joe Biden while Pelosi’s spokesperson did not have any contact with the speaker since meeting the Texas Democrats.
