US First Lady Jill Biden will head to the Tokyo Olympic Games to lead the U.S. delegation on July 23, 2021.
“First Lady Jill Biden will travel to the Opening Ceremony of the 2021 Olympic Summer Games,” announced the White House.
According to the White House, President Joe Biden will not attend the Olympics but “will be rooting for the athletes.”
Jill has already led the US delegation for the Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, in 2010 when Joe Biden was vice president.
The opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics will be held with no spectators due to the state of emergency that’s been declared in Tokyo caused by the ongoing COVID pandemic.
