Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase said it will be offering $1,000 in crypto for new hires in India, as it establishes a new hub in the country.
Pankaj Gupta, Vice President of Engineering and Site Lead in India said that the company would hire hundreds of top talents from across the country to build the Indian hub, in a blog post on Friday.
“One of our cherished cultural tenets is top talent in every seat — so even though we wish to hire in large numbers, we are proud to say that each of these new hires is and will be among the topmost talent available anywhere in the world,” Gupta wrote.
Gupta also announced that it will offer each new employee a one-time $1,000 in crypto under its CIkka program, short for ‘Coinbase India Sikka.’
“Our expectation is that they’ll leverage this offering to learn about crypto, and will use this knowledge to help us build the next generation of products that will delight our customers around the world,” the VP also said.
The company in March announced plans of opening a hub in the South Asian country.
