Indonesian Travel Agencies Offer US “Vaccination Tours”

Indonesian travel agencies are now offering “vaccination tours” to the United States, allowing citizens to travel and get vaccinated there, amidst a surge in Covid-19 infections.

Some Indonesians are opting to get vaccinated overseas in countries such as the United States to get their shots faster, instead of waiting in the country.

The Indonesian government has also announced that it will ramp up vaccinations to administer one million doses daily starting July as infections surge, Antara News reported.

“We are confident that we can reach the number of 1 million vaccinations per day at the beginning of next month,” said health minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin following a meeting with President Joko Widodo on Monday.

The government is targeting to inoculate around 70 percent of the population or 181.5 million citizens by the end of the year.
