UAE Requires COVID-19 Vaccines for Live Events

The United Arab Emirates said it will require Covid-19 vaccinations for individuals attending live events starting June 6, authorities said on Tuesday.

National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) on Twitter said that the measure includes all events including exhibitions, activities, sports, cultural, and social.

Individuals will also have to show a negative PCR result within 48 hours prior to the event. 

The country’s vaccination campaign has now inoculated more than 78 percent of the total eligible population aged over 16 while 85 percent of the elderly group have been vaccinated, the government also said.

The NCEMA also announced that the UAE tops the list for vaccine distribution rate worldwide.
