Colonial Pipeline shippers reported that the communications system of Colonial Pipeline was down as of Tuesday morning raising fears of another hack.
According to the shippers who refused to disclose their identity, the system that allows customers to nominate and make changes to their batches of fuel traveling through the pipeline has been inaccessible.
The outage came two weeks after the ransomware attack which caused long lines and drastic gasoline shortages along the US East Coast.
“Colonial is currently experiencing network issues impacting customers’ ability to enter and update nominations. Our internal IT department is aware of the situation and working diligently to restore service,” said Colonial Pipeline.
Colonial Pipeline has not yet released any details on the outage and when services would be restored.
